Having a Victorious Birthday

Some may think this is kind of an odd title, but I think others could be blessed by it, so I thought I’d share what Yahweh has taught and is teaching me, concerning it. And precious girls, I’m going to try to be as transparent as I can, in hopes that it will bless you.

This is an area which I have to admit, Satan has really fought hard to be victorious in, which means I have had to fight even harder back. Birthdays are not easy for me, as it signifies that my Beloved is still “on his journey” away from me, and yet another year in which we aren’t serving side by side…and in all honesty, that’s hard. I don’t think I will ever understand how husbands and wives can be separate constantly (or ever when not needed!), with one going on a journey, while the other remains home! Since I was younger, marriage has always been something that I greatly desired. I think you’d agree with me, when Yahweh brings two people together, it’s absolutely beautiful! He says that its a good thing. And children…well…they have always held a very, very special place within my heart! People think it’s crazy that I have always wanted 25 children, but the truth is, I would be in gloryland with that many!! I don’t just enjoy children. I adore children. And so this has been an area that Satan I know sees, and thus, where he tries to get me down in the most. And what better way, than to put my age, so-to-speak, in my face? He would absolutely love for me to believe the lies he tries to get me to believe…to fear and be anxious, to dwell in darkness (depression), instead of light and trust. But, I am more than determined that that isn’t going to happen! 🙂

My precious girls, this past year Yahweh has taught me so much on how I can identify the enemies attacks (albeit I know I have a long ways to still go!), and also how to counter those attacks so that he doesn’t gain the ground that isn’t his to be had. And so this year, I was kind of on guard and a little bit more prepared for the battle I knew would be sure to come with this time of the year, quickly approaching. 🙂

For my older sisters, you can probably relate to this struggle. For you younger ones, this may not apply to you, as you are just coming of age and haven’t necessarily had to do much waiting :). But these truths can be applied no matter the battle you are currently fighting, and so I pray that this will encourage each and every one of you.

So, how can we live victorously in this struggle? How can we approach each year, being blessed, instead of discouraged? How do we fight the battle of our mind (for Satan surely does a LOT of his battling within our minds!)? Are we supposed to just accept whatever thoughts he throws at us? To allow Satan to get us so discouraged and doubtful, instead of living fully trusting Yahweh and joyful in where He has us and what He has us doing?

I’d love to first share some scriptures that I think will help you know how to engage and fight. But then I’d like to share some insights that Yahweh has shown me this past year, that hopefully will be an added blessing to your own life. But first, let’s read what His word says. 🙂

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

So…if Satan tries to get us to doubt Yahweh’s goodness to us, is that true? Honest? Pure? What does Yahweh tell us to do?

Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us to, “Trust in Yahweh with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

So, here Yahweh is telling us to trust Him and NOT to lean on our own understanding (what we precieve)…and also tell us to acknowledge him, and that He WOULD direct our paths! So we can identify this attack as just that, an attack from Satan and counter it with the truth…and choose to THINK ON THE TRUTH! This in and of itself will help us live victorious in this area…for we wouldn’t even allow ourselves to dwell on those lies. 🙂

Psalms 43:5 goes on to say, “Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? Hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.”

I have found that when I find myself being cast down and my soul being disquieted, it’s usually because I have allowed doubt to take rule over me. But if I instead stop, hope in God, and start praising Him for all He has done in the past, my countenance totally changes! Even if, my precious sisters, you stop hoping or simply don’t feel like you are hoping, if you bring yourself to remember what Yahweh has already done in your lives, and praise Him for His wonderful goodness to you, you will find your attitude totally changing to that of one of hope! It’s really amazing how it does this!!! You will once again believe!! You will feel so much better and will be able to praise Him with your whole being. So remember, even if you don’t feel it or feel like it, do it and you will find yourself able to soon! 🙂

I remember a time this past year when a dear friend and I had to do just this. We sat down when we felt overwhelmed and didn’t understand Yahweh’s working in our lives, and began going back over what we could see and could understand. Being able to see what He has done in the past, helped us to be able to trust Him for the present and future. It gave us the encouragement we needed…the hope we needed…the reminder that He had everything in His hands and under control. Remember the verse above that commands us to “think on these things”? 🙂

I came across this passage this morning and fell in love with it instantly! It was such a beautiful reminder for me.

Psalms 39:4-5 says, “Yahweh, make me to know my end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am. Behold, thou has made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah”

So yes, Girls, 31 isn’t the end of the world! 😉 Seriously, it was a huge encouragement to me, as when Satan would try to get me discouraged about this, I could/can quote this verse back. My age isn’t anything before Yahweh. Girls, He knew and knows exactly how many children, if any, I would have. This isn’t taking Him by surprise. It’s not like He forgot about me. He knew and He knows. Remember Sarah? She was what, 90 years old when she had Isaac? So just because Satan would love to get us down because of how old we may be, we can assure Him Yahweh doesn’t care how “old” a person is. It is HE who opens and shuts our wombs. Age has nothing to do with it…if He wishes to bless a person with a little one, He will, period! 🙂 And as for marriage, again, age is nothing in His eyes. He is WAY more concerned about our heart, than our age…but more on this later.

Some other scriptures that have been helpful and ways to counter are;

1 Peter 5:7 “Casting ALL your care upon him; FOR HE CARETH FOR YOU.”

Lie: He doesn’t care about you.

Truth: quote this verse…and realize that he DOES care for you!

Philippians 2:13-14 “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Do all things without murmurings and disputings:”

We know Yahweh hasn’t forgotten about us, but He is working His will out in our lives. What we need to do, is be on guard that we do not complain or grumble over where He has us.

But the good news is Isaiah 41:10 tells us to, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

I know it can be hard. Believe me, my precious sisters, I know and understand the struggle quite intimitately! But girls, we can go before His throne, knowing that He has promised to be with us, to walk each step with us, strengthening and holding us, when we need Him to…which is all the time! 🙂 There is nothing wrong with going before Him and telling Him how weak you currently feel and asking for His help and strength. I certainly do all the time! There is nothing wrong with casting your care upon Him…He WANTS to carry it for you! But He needs you to fully and deeply trust Him through this time! He needs you to not complain, but to seek Him with your whole heart, and follow His leading in your life. Don’t take things into your own hands. Keep trusting Him, for He is truly worthy of your trust!

I told you this could be applied to all areas of your life…and the reason for this is, it’s the same principles. One of the ways that Satan tries to attack us, is in getting us to dwell in the darkness! If he can get you discouraged, he has you and he knows it. Take each thought captive to the obedience of the anointed! Take each thought, weigh it, see if it is biblically true or not, and if not, follow the steps He has given us. Learn to fight how Yahshua taught us when being tempted himself. He didn’t have this long half hearted discourse with Satan…with a bunch of “maybe’s”. Satan tempted him, Yahshua countered it with “thus it is written”, period. He countered the attacks and the lies, with the truth. His word is supposed to be your sword, so don’t be afraid to use it! 🙂 Be bold and speak the truth and think the truth!

In the next part I’ll share some more of different things Yahweh has been teaching me that kind of goes along the lines of this whole topic. 🙂 Until then, may Yahweh richly bless each of you and draw you ever closer to Him as you engage in the battle over your soul!
