If you have not read part 1 of these series called “The Foundation -Who Is the Giver of Life”, please stop and take the time to read it now.
In the last post we discussed how Yahweh is the giver of life and how we do have purpose here on earth! Our purpose is to serve Yahweh our God with all of our heart, soul, strength, and mind.
I shared with you how He created us in His own image, how Yahweh formed us and knit us together in our mothers wombs! He is the one that breathes life into our beings.
Today I would like to speak about how our days are numbered and who numbers them.
“Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;” Job 14:5
Yahweh has numbered each and every one of our days. For some of us, that will be when we are old and grey (by the way, the grey doesn’t take that long to come! LOL). But for others, those days are fewer in number. Regardless, when Yahweh sets the bounds of our life here on earth (numbers our days and months), we cannot go past them. We will die. We will breathe our last here on earth. The question is, “When?” not “If”.
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die…” Ecclesiastes 3:1-2
To every thing there is a season…a time for every purpose…a time to die. My precious girls, death is only a question as to when. It will come to each and every single one of us.
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” Hebrews 9:27 (ephesis added)
Ladies, our days have been appointed. They have been numbered. There is no adding one more day or one more year to our lives. It could happen in the blink of an eye, or a drawn out process of time. You don’t know. You won’t know. But there is one thing that is certain. You (we) will die…and after that, we will face a Holy and Just God and be judged for our sins. Are you prepared to meet the God of this universe? Are you prepared to stand before Almighty God, Yahweh?
I’d like to read the Hebrews passage again, but this time, give you the following verse. Yahweh doesn’t leave us hanging without hope!
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So the anointed was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” Hebrews 9:27-28
He didn’t just tell us that we were going to die and be judged with no hope, since we are all guilty of death…“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Yahshua the anointed our Lord.” (Romans 6:23) Sisters, He left us with hope! He sent His only begotten Son down in the form of a man, so that your sins COULD be paid for! He was the only one that could pay that price! The sacrifice for sin had to be perfect, spotless, and guiltless! Yet, we were not worthy to offer such a sacrifice! He not only gave us life here on earth, but He longs to give us eternal life, as well!
Sisters, our lives do not end when we breathe our last here on earth!! I left you with a question…a challenge in the last post and I will give it to you once again…
Will you surrender your life to His control…His plan for your life? Will you love Him?
I would like to write a little bit more about how you can do just that. How can you know for certain where you are going? How can you receive eternal life…life without end? Life with Him!
I mentioned that the wages of sin (our sin) is death…“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Yahshua the anointed our Lord.” Romans 6:23 It is only through His gift, can we receive life instead of what we deserve, which is death. But what is sin? How do we know that we are sinners, and thus in need of being saved from that judgment of death?
“Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.” 1 John 3:4
My precious girls, sin is the transgression of the law…God’s law. If you have broken even one of Yahweh’s laws, you have sinned, and thus the penalty is death! Some may say or think that they are still good enough. I mean, you haven’t robbed a bank, you haven’t killed someone, you haven’t committed adultery with your neighbors wife (or have you?)… but I’d like to point you to the fact that it isn’t enough to not do it…you can’t even think it or you are guilty!
“Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” Matthew 5:27-28
“Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.” 1 John 3:15
Let me ask you again, are you guilty? Yahweh’s laws and standards are so much higher than the worlds. It isn’t just if we commit the actual sin, we are guilty. We don’t have to make someone breathe their last to be a murderer. We simply have to hate them, and we have murdered them already in our hearts! “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he...” (Proverbs 23:7) This is God’s standards. This is how He judges. We must not compare ourselves to our neighbors and think “oh, I’m good enough…I’m atleast better than they are!” We must compare ourselves against His Word, as those are the laws He’s going to be judging us by.
Remember…“…sin is the transgression of the law.” 1 John 3:4 This is how we know we have sinned…when we have broken Yahweh’s law. But I want you to see something else…who did Yahweh give the law to? Who did He have write the law down? Moses, right? People who say that they no longer have to keep the Law, totally miss this point. When you don’t keep the Law, you are in sin. This is what sin is…it’s the definition of sin. And this, my friends, is what you are going to be judged for. “Do not think that I (Yahshua) will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.” John 5:45-46
Girls, I dare say that we are all guilty of breaking atleast one of His commandments. It only takes one time and we are guilty. Guilty unto death. “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:” (Romans 3:10) “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” (1 John 1:8)
I’ve said it before, and I will say it again. Yahweh is a Holy and Just God! You may think that because you have only done it once, it surely isn’t worthy of the penalty of death. You weren’t that bad. But let me ask you something. If someone, who had never done anything wrong before, came into your house and murdered your mother or one of your children, and they stood before the Supreme Court and Judge and said “but I’ve been so good before this!”…would you find them guilty or innocent? I dare say we’d all find them guilty. Even we humans understand that it only takes one time…one sin! So how can we stand here and say that our God wouldn’t also be Just in giving us the penalty we deserve?
“He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Hebrews 10:28-31
“So the anointed was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.” Hebrews 9:28
Yahshua came to bear your sins…to make it so that you could stand before your God and when He asks you “who has paid for this sin?”, we can say “Your Son did”. Yahshua was spotless! He was guiltless!!! It was because of our sins that He went to that cross! He did that for us! Yahweh sent His only Son to pay our penalty of death, because He loves us THAT much!
“That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:15-18
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Yahshua, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:9-13
My precious girls, you can know where you will spend eternal life! Let me ask you again…Will you surrender your life to the King of Kings? Will you fall down on your knees before a Just and Holy God and ask Him to forgive you of your sins? “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:3) “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9) “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Yahshua the anointed his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7
Will you ask Him to be Lord and Master of your life? Will you love Him?
“For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.” (1 John 5:3) “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” (John 14:15)
“In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Whosoever shall confess that Yahshua is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.” 1 John 4:9-17
